The European Hematology Association (EHA) promotes excellence in patient care, research and education in hematology

In support of the mission of the European Hematology Association (EHA) the Amyloidosis Foundation board members Isabelle Lousada (Chairman) and Dena Heath attended the 20th Congress of the European Hematology Association held in Vienna, Austria, June 11th through 14th, 2015. Participation in this exciting event allowed us to spread awareness about the amyloidosis diseases, to offer new disease information including the statistical results of our recent patient survey, and to promote the exciting projects that the Foundation and the new Research Consortium currently have in progress.

Many doctors in search of updated information on amyloidosis approached our booth. Participating in this smaller European venue provided us with an excellent opportunity to interact with these doctors and researchers. Several of these medical professionals are from countries that include Kazakhstan, Algeria, Bulgaria, Romania, Ukraine, Poland and Saudi Arabia, and they do not attend the various U.S. conferences where the AF has a presence. The Amyloidosis Foundation team looks forward to further participation in EHA conferences and other regions where amyloidosis awareness is so important.
